Part Time:

Position: Computer Lab Coordinator

Responsibilities: The Computer Lab Coordinator will provide daily age appropriate computer and technology activities for youth ages 5-18. The ideal candidate will have good energy and enjoy working with kids!

Hours: Monday through Friday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Hourly Rate: $8 - $9/hour

Position: Teen Coordinator-Programming for Young Men

Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a positive/safe/supportive environment for youth males by providing age appropriate, cultural and gender sensitive, single-sex, co-ed, competitive and cooperative games, discussions and programming.· Position must record and report weekly activities, member attendance/participation, and program evaluation results.

Hours: Monday-Thursday: 4-9

Hourly Rate: $9.00 - $10.00

Position: Lifeguard

Responsibilities: Observe and monitor pool area from lifeguard station to ensure the safety of the guests and that established safety rules are followed and detect and provide assistance to guests as needed.

Job Requirements: Must be certified as a lifeguard, including Professional Rescuer CPR certification. Must be able to lift, carry, pull, and push. Must be able to provide swim lessons to youth across several ages. Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 3-9

Hourly Rate: $9.00 - $10.00

Position:   Youth Development Professional

Responsibilities: Duties Include:

•     Lead Boys & Girls Club special group activities
•     Develop weekly lesson plans and complete daily reports
•     Prepare weekly reports and submit to Senior Youth Development Professional
•     Coordinate field trips with Senior Youth Development Professional
•     Attend field trips
•     Advocate for parental involvement
•     Lead large group activities including tutorial duties.
•     Cooperate with community partners to offer sports program
•     Recruit parents for participation and involvement
•     Help youth with homework and lead small group activities
•     Tutor children and incorporate education in arts activities

Desirable Qualifications:

•     High school diploma and/or college education in field of interest
•     Experience working with youth ages 6-12
•     Related education, social work or related background
•     Demonstrated planning, implementing and evaluating youth programs
•     Must be proficient in area of interest
•     Must be comfortable working with inner-city youth and enjoy being with kids

Hours: Monday thru Friday 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm 15-20 hrs. – School year & 30-35 hrs. – Summer

Hourly Rate: $8/hr -$10/hr

AmeriCorps:

Description: Members will be placed at Boys & Girls Clubs or other youth service agencies located in distressed communities throughout Indianapolis. Members will work with youth to provide programs and activities during after school hours and summer. One key component of the program will be for members to lead youth through planning and implementing 15-20 hours per week - typically between the hours of 3-7 p.m. In the summer, members will provide programming during summer hours - typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are now accepting applications for the period of September 2011 to August 2012. Requirements: Applicants must be at least 17 years old, and a legal resident (with permission to work) of the United States.

Hours: AmeriCorps members will work during after school hours for approximately 15 hours per week. During the summer, members will work approximately 35 hours per week.

Pay: AmeriCorps members will earn a living stipend of up to $5,850 (less taxes, paid in bi-weekly installments). Upon completion, members are eligible to receive an Education Award of $2,360 (less taxes).
