The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis

 

The 2009 Cookin' Out for Kids BBQ Bash was a success for Boys & Girls Cubs of Indianapolis, raising over $22,000 for our youth development programs.

The event, held on May 20 at the Mavris Arts & Events Center, featured keynote speaker, Pacers Coach Jim O'Brien who provided a great message to our Club members and supporters. WISH TV's Anthony Calhoun served as emcee.

Boys & Girls Club members provided entertainment for the evening with performances by the George Buck Singing Wildcats and the Wheeler-Dowe Interpretive Dance Team. Youth of the Year winners, Josiah Herndon and Aamber Shake, wowed the crowd with speeches about how the Boys & Girls Club has impacted their lives. Danny Degraphenreed, another Youth of the Year winner, entertained the crowd with his Q&A session with Coach O'Brien.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, our mission is to offer hope and opportunity to the young people who walk through our doors each day. This would not be possible without the generous support of the community. We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who supported Cookin' Out for Kids in 2009!
